Welcome to the American Model Morgan Horse Association's (AMMHA) website!
AMMHA is a model horse club which strives to follow the rules of the real American Morgan Horse Association in order to educate the public on this magnificent breed. This club was founded in 1981 and has been promoting the Morgan horse, in model horse form ever since.
Our purpose is to promote the showing of model Morgan's and to encourage learning about the breed. Many of our members do not have the ability to own a living, breathing horse so we are here to share in the Morgan horse with them. Thru participation in AMMHA, many learn about the versatility of the Morgan horse. Some of our members do extensive bloodline research, learning about different family traits and even color genetics. Those who show their model Morgan(s) learn about showring fashion, rules, regulations and much more. It truly can be an introduction to real Morgan horse ownership for some.
Membership in AMMHA is inexpensive and well worth the small fee. For members we offer a month "point only show" where your model Morgan can be photo shown and accumulate points for year-end awards. There is a National Championship for horses that have qualified thru-out the year showing. An accumulative award program is also automatically tallied for members, recognizing horses who achieve certain point levels within our club at our monthly POS and Nationals. AMMHA maintains a registry of model horses as well for it's members, which helps educate and promote bloodline research and knowledge.
Model-Morgan-Lovers is the official electronic mailing list for AMMHA. Managed by Jennifer Kroll, MML serves as a communication tool for up-to-the-minute club information in addition to allowing club members to discuss anything “Morgan”. AMMHA members are not required to subscribe to MML, although it is encouraged. By the same token, those on the e-list are not required to join AMMHA, although this too is encouraged.
