AMMHA April News

Hello! I thought I would start out with some news from April to keep everyone updated on events. It has been a slow start, however, progress is being made.

Membership:
We are now officially open for membership. If you would like to become a member and haven't paid your 2007/2008 dues, please consider doing so now. First off, since we are starting so late in the season we have decided to make the membership active for both 2007 AND 2008. In essence, when you pay the $5.00 membership dues you will be a member for both 2007 and 2008 ... can't beat that!

Please remit your $5.00 2007/2008 Membership to Thomas Bainbridge. You may do this via PayPal at: bainbridge@jackpine.com or thru snail mail at:

Thomas Bainbridge
7393 Chief Road
Kaleva, MI 49645

When making payment, please be sure to note that it is for AMMHA membership. Effective immediately you must be a member to be eligible to show in AMMHA Point Only Shows (June 2007 onward), gather points towards Year End Awards, gain points towards accumulative AMMHA Medallion awards, entry to Nationals, voting privileges and other forthcoming Club special functions.

We currently have 13 paid members and 4 "gratis" Members. Gratis members are those who hold an official office in AMMHA, their membership is included.

Our 13 paid members so far are:
Stephanie Hasser, OH
Mary Barton, AZ
Vicky Norris, TX
Kristin Wellman, IL
Becky Turner, AZ

Robin Poehlein, KY

The 4 Gratis members (officers):
Thomas Bainbridge
Laura Hornick Behning
Delana Metcalf
Beth Gustas

April Treasurers Report:
We current have $68.00 in the club's account. Membership (13 paid members x $5.00= $65.00) at $65.00 and POS entry fees (April) $3.00. No expenses to date. Not too bad, considering we had zilch one month ago. I am working on some additional fundraisers and if anyone out there has any ideas as to how to increase our Club account, please let me know.

Club Logo Contest:
I am sad to say that only one submission was made. I thought there would be more interest, apparently I was wrong. The winning submission is very nice and was submitted by Terrie Smith of California. It will be our official club logo for 2007/2008 and Terrie will receive an unpainted mini Morgan gelding resin "Faliant" sculpted by Laura Hornick Behning as her prize. Thank you Terrie for your lovely submission!

News:
A) Live Show recognition! I am working on a proposal for outstanding live show Morgans recognition. It will be basically recognizing for outstanding model Morgans in the live show ring. It would be by individual submittal by members. More to come.

B) There is a reworked new resin Morgan sculpture for you Morgan lovers! It is Knightly Cadence 2, sculpted by Carol Williams. He is a traditional scale cantering stallion that is oozing Morgan type! If you want to see the reworked version, which is currently being sold, go to: www.riorondo.com .

I guess that wraps it up for now. Any questions, comments, ideas, concerns --- please feel free to email me at bainbridge@jackpine.com and I will be sure to pass them along. We are slowly but surely gathering steam and hopefully by 2008 we will have all our programs in full swing and an eager and active membership in place. This Club is only what you make it! Thank you!
