Rifle Falls near Rifle, CO February 14, 1999

Rifle Falls Park includes a wonderful, short trail meandering along the areas vapor caves, up around the top of the falls and past bottom of the falls. Absolutely beautiful! Along the trail, you'll find several signs describing the area - from fauna to history to mountain lions. The trail was still snowy/muddy and a bit slippery when we visited - watch your step! There are some steep inclines and a few spots you'll need to scramble up & around rocks but it should be an easy walk for most anyone due to the short distance. Maya loved all the new smells and the caves & waterfall gave my pup an opportunity to explore a new terrain. Dogs must be leashed.
