Roamin Holiday

1982 grey blanket Appaloosa stallion
Bred by October Moon Acres, IL
CM Breyer SM Quarter Horse Stallion (G1) by Liz Bouras

Roamin Holiday is a 1982 grey blanket Appaloosa stallion whose predominantly vintage model-bred pedigree offers a wonderful cross-section of early hobby bloodlines, complemented by influential real Appaloosa breeding through his dam October Sun. Her sire Sun-Up combines two notable real Appaloosas, 1971 chestnut blanket stallion Post Haste, a World Performance Champion, National Champion, multiple performance medallion earner and eventual ApHC Hall of Fame inductee, and 1969 mare Prince's Bluff, a daughter of legendary National Grand Champion and Hall of Fame sire Prince Plaudit. Roamin Holiday is strongly linebred to several of his pedigree's early model-bred families, with Diamond Dark Crystal appearing on both sides and the blood of King of Diamonds, Smoky Gambit and Dark Crystal reinforced through multiple branches. Through Dark Crystal he also traces to Discover Flying and Linda Walter's renowned multi-Grand Champion Beswick Appaloosa and influential foundation model sire *Alconbury Hill, adding a direct connection to the formative years of the model horse pedigree assignment hobby. Roamin Holiday has a special history of his own as one of Rainbow Dreams Stables' earliest custom models and early show horses, earning Merit, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum cumulative awards through The All Breed Model Horses Collectors & Showers Club and qualifying for NAN at the Colorado Summer Classic in June 1998. A handsome early custom by Liz Bouras on the Breyer Stablemate Quarter Horse Stallion mold, Roamin Holiday combines an unusually deep and tightly woven vintage model pedigree, distinguished real Appaloosa heritage and a successful show record with more than four decades of history as a treasured member of the RDS herd.
