Dreaming of Dancing brings together an intriguing blend of proven Express bloodlines and predominantly real-horse breeding, with only a few modelbred lines woven into his pedigree. A restricted stakes-placed winner himself, he raced from ages two through six, winning twice at 870 yards and placing from 250 yards through five furlongs, demonstrating both durability and versatility over a wide range of distances. His sire, Black Dancer, was a multiple stakes winner and champion in the MRF, while his dam, Double Dreams, comes from an especially productive family rich in Express Year End Award influence: her sire Double Moon is a son of YEA winner Dash of Silver, her dam Cherokee Dreams is a full sister to YEA winner Appalachie Eyes, Appalachie Valor sired Appalachie Eyes, and Eyes Dreamin produced both Appalachie Eyes and Viking Eyes. The real horses behind Dreaming of Dancing add considerable depth, including 1959 Horse of the Year and Hall of Famer Sword Dancer, legendary Native Dancer, Gallant Man, Sonny Dee Bar, Mr Spotted Bull, and a Thoroughbred foundation that ultimately reaches such immortals as War Admiral and Man o' War. With his athletic black blanket coloring, useful racing performance, strong female family, and pedigree combining successful racing, stock-horse, and Appaloosa influences, Dreaming of Dancing offers an appealing outcross for mares aimed at a variety of performance disciplines.
