A handsome grey leopard stallion with a pedigree steeped in classic speed and versatility, Spot Spy Bars traces through every branch of his pedigree to real horses, combining some exceptional Quarter Horse racing blood with influential Appaloosa racing lines. A maiden winner at 300 yards with an SI 90 and $10,480 in Express earnings, he is by the proven stakes sire Savannah Bars, whose sire Savannah Jr was one of the outstanding Quarter Horse runners of the 1960s, winning the All American, Oklahoma and Sunland Fall futurities and earning AQHA championship honors at both two and three. Savannah Bars' maternal grandsire Kid Meyers adds remarkable versatility as AQHA's first Supreme Champion and a Hall of Fame horse who succeeded in racing, halter, roping and western pleasure. Spot Spy Bars' dam, Spot A Spy, brings an equally distinguished Appaloosa racing heritage through ApHC Hall of Famer and leading sire Mr Spotted Bull, a stakes winner whose progeny included champions, stakes winners and medallion earners, while Mr Spotted Bull's Thoroughbred sire Z-Bull contributes another strong infusion of racing blood. The maternal side also carries the SS breeding program through SS Spy Echo and show champion SS Cloak & Dagger, blending proven show influence with the speed-oriented blood elsewhere in the pedigree. With Savannah Jr, Kid Meyers and Mr Spotted Bull appearing within three generations, Spot Spy Bars offers an unusually appealing combination of Quarter Horse speed, Appaloosa racing heritage and all-around performance influence, all wrapped in a striking leopard package.
