The following list provides several locations and ideas to enjoy the great outdoors near Lakewood and the Denver metro area:

Bear Creek Lake Park - The City of Lakewood manages a mecca for outdoor activities at Bear Creek Lake Park! You can hike the trails, go camping, enjoy boating, horseback riding, fishing, nature programs and a number of other fun activities within the city limits of our town.
Colorado State Parks - Chatfield State Park, Roxborough State Park, and Golden Gate State Park are all within easy driving distance from the Lakewood area and offer a variety of outdoor experiences and programs. If you're willing to drive a bit further, there are more than 40 wonderful state parks available throughout the state of Colorado. Be sure to check out the Colorado State Park's A Pass and A Backpack to borrow a park pass and a pack full of fun activity information from your local library (including several Jeffco Public Library locations)!
Lakewood Parks - The City of Lakewood offers nearly 100 parks with a variety of trails, playgrounds, open spaces, and more attractions for your family to explore! Check out the A to Z Park Listing on the Lakewood.org website. Can you visit them all?
