RHYTHM TWIST broke quickly to set a comfortable pace, dug in gamely when challenged and held off her foes wire to wire. VENUS FLYTRAP broke well and settled into stalking position, moving up late to catch Paeanofglass but couldn't get past gutsy winner. PAEANOFGLASS pressed the pace throughout, tiring a bit late but game to the wire.
Steward’s notes: Mountainside welcomed three fillies for today's G1 IOR Ruffian -- a tiny field but full of class. Coming off a big win in the Go For Wand in late July, Rhythm Twist held off all challengers and continued her summer winning streak today. Tough Venus Flytrap may have made her move a few seconds too late today and she rushed past RT after the wire. Paeanofglass continues to prove her grit with a game effort against older and more experienced mares today. Thanks to everyone for the chance to host your talented young mares!
